We are still waiting for some snow. My seldom used Bean boots are getting bored just sitting around, ready and waiting, to go for a little hike. Thought putting a big pot of minestrone on the stove and making some corny cornbread would encourage a few visible flakes to fall out of the sky...I'm easy to please, but no dice so far no matter how threatening and cold the sky looks.
When I saw an artist on Instagram had created a Bean Boot out of stained glass I was first to snap it up. My Dad bought me a new pair every year for Christmas back in the 80’s and 90’s.
These are wonderful. Last evening I went to a Meet the Author type of presentation. The feature was a person who was an attorney, then a judge and now he writes as a passion and self-publishes. He shared with the audience the key to writing and authoring for him was to read voraciously. He expanded that he reads many genres, AND EVEN POETRY. He then paused and explained while he did not start out seeking poetry, he now knows he MUST read it to feed the creativity of writing.
The person happens to write about the "Up North" experience in a Midwestern State. This is not unlike what you unlocked here as a Mainer. Thank you. I will continue to recommend this little corner of the Internet.
Can't wait to see you this summer. I love everything you write. You have writers on both sides of your family - Gammo, Gaffo, your father, your mother. You can't help but be a successful writer.
The last two sentences are a story all by themselves. It reminds me of all the times I've left a book on a table half-finished.

Fingers (and bootlaces) crossed!
Lovely post!! Makes me want to put a pot of stew on the stove and curl up under a quilt with a good novel!
May I recommend...Little Women? 😝
Lol!!! I've read Little Women several times!!! Jo is my favorite...😊
Great drawing!
Beautiful! I'm going to try to get my cat to pose next to my bean boots so I can take a picture :)
Wonderful post, Amie! And the picture is beautiful!

Great writing!!! Love the illustration. I think you should write a book. 🥰
I’m working on it--would love your feedback when I see you this summer. Your encouragement keeps my pen moving! 💜
