Yes I did…there was a moment where I thought I could make it a Midwest hot dish and put tater tots on it! 😊

Do they still make recipe cards, I wonder. Or is there an app for that? 😂

I have some of the exact same, illustrated recipe cards from my mom. I remember well those casserole days. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

You say so much in so few words, Amie. An early marriage summarized, plus a recipe card that summons memories for the rest of us--especially of our own inherited recipe boxes!

I remember those days hahaha. For some reason, most of my collected recipes from those early days were for appetizers. I guess I was holding a lot of parties.

That recipe card - even the handwriting itself - looks so much like my mom’s! Her recipe box wasn’t lucite, but it was a sturdy plastic that served as a bookend to keep her small collection of cookbooks upright on a pantry shelf. Wow, brings back memories - nostalgia, but not in the form of a meal.

So much about this that I love. Transported me to my auntie’s mobile home. Yes! to all of the descriptors. The recipe box rule: must contain 1/3 casseroles, 1/2 baked goods, and 1/6 aspirational/inspirational recipes likely never made. But the ones with names assigned are generally quite good. ❣️ ~ Leigh

I can see I need to make a tab for “aspirational dishes”. Good one, Leigh!
