I had never thought of making applesauce with crabapples. They're tiny, right? It's been years since I have even seen a tree. My grandparents had one in their yard and my grandmother made jelly.

Just beautiful, Amie, both the excerpt and the longer published piece! I’ll be on the hunt for crab apples to make that recipe once I get back home. Unfortunately, if I can find them, they won’t be from that memorable tree!
