Meet Andrei Atanasov, a fiction writer and memoirist from Bucharest, Romania. Andrei writes Practice Space, a biweekly newsletter that features short, memoir-style essays and, as he puts it, “observations about things that have nothing in common, like funerals, the universe and T-shirts.”
Andrei’s literary work has appeared in Every Day Fiction, Drunk Monkeys and Flash Fiction Magazine.
His current reading list includes Ada Limón’s poetry collection, The Hurting Kind and Essayism by Brian Dillon. On deck: Beautiful Country by Qian Julie Wang.
In this month’s micro interview, Andrei tells us about, after multiple rejections, his soon-to-be-published short story (way to persevere!) and the stray cat he and his wife rescued and named Vineri, Romanian for Friday—the day they found him.
Welcome to the mashup’s micro-interview! Answers can be any length, but the total word count—including my 8 questions—can’t exceed 100 words.

I’m a sucker for animal rescue stories, and Vineri’s is a great tale!
Alright, Andrei, I'm ready to read! I do confess to have a similar malady, with too many thoughts running around in my head. I'm also am hoping to dissipate some of them as it will lighten the listening load on my wife. Also, great name choice!
I enjoyed this!
