Amie, I have spent six months barely exercising - I want to WANT to get out there again, but I DON'T want to. I will. I will try. I KNOW I love to walk - until the weather became (and remained!) dreadful in October I would walk for hours and hours and hours. Now I'm just out of the habit - and I've even dropped my long sessions in the living room doing YouTube HIIT sessions!

So: thank you so very much for the inspiration. No, I'm not going ultra - nor am I even running - but oh boy, I'm going to walk. Fitness was my friend - I need to find her again.

I find walking enormously helpful in my writing life; I just know you will find the joy again.

I’m a dedicated walker, hiker, and backpacker. Running is not for me, but I love reading about your love for it!

Ultras! Wow. Have you done triathlons? That’s where I’m thinking I’ll go next. Don’t think my knees can handle ultras.
