Notes from a Road Trip. June, 2021: 10 days, 5 parks
Glacier National Park. Three trails, two running buddies, a waterfall.
The park motel, a retro throwback. Instant coffee, a protein bar. The morning sparkles. Blue ice and snowmelt. Bear scat, a gasp.
The lake holds its breath.
A half-century ago, a different road trip through Montana, across the country with my parents in the old black Mercedes, me and the old black dog in the backseat.
And now, covid clings to the membranes of memory. The yearning to go somewhere—far off, nearby, anywhere—away from pandemic zoom-box prison.
Stunning pictures and prose. Your phrase “pandemic zoom-box prison” hits hard.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing! It reminds me of my own good times in national parks. ❤
